When the whole room is worth doing
Most of what we do is the wet area alone, because that's where the problem usually is and it's finished in a day. A full renovation is worth it when the rest of the room has aged out with it — a vanity with a swollen carcass, flooring that was dated twenty years ago, a single fitting over the mirror, and a layout that never worked.
The honest test is whether you'd still be annoyed at the room after the shower was replaced. If the answer is yes, doing it in one go is cheaper and far less disruptive than coming back in two years to redo the rest around brand-new walls.
What changes is the timeline and the planning, not the standard of the wet area — that's the same system and the same warranty either way. Expect five to ten days depending on scope, and longer if you choose a vanity or tile with a lead time.

Priced separately and shown before agreement: moving plumbing or walls, structural repairs found once we open up, and permit fees where the work needs one. Nothing gets added to the invoice without being agreed first.
How a renovation runs
- Free in-home measure, and a conversation about what's actually bothering you.
- Fixed written price, itemised, with no deposit to book.
- Fixtures and finishes chosen — lead times confirmed before the start date.
- Strip-out, then any structural or plumbing work, then the wet area.
- Flooring, vanity, lighting, paint.
- Glass fitted last, two to three weeks after templating.
Full renovations, specifically
How long am I without the bathroom?
Five to ten days for most rooms. If it's the only bathroom in the house, say so at the measure — it changes how we sequence the work, and we'd rather plan around it than discover it on day two.
Do you handle permits?
Where the job needs one, yes — we confirm with the City of Calgary or the relevant municipal district before booking the date, and the fee is shown as its own line rather than buried. A renovation that moves plumbing or alters electrical generally does need one.
Can I supply my own vanity or tile?
Yes, and plenty of people do. We'll tell you before you buy whether something will fit the space and the plumbing. What we can't do is warranty a product we didn't supply — our 20-year warranty covers the wall system and our labour either way.
Is the fixed price really fixed?
For everything in the quote, yes. The two things that can change it are what we find once the walls are open — rot, old leaks, wiring that isn't to code — and changes you ask for partway through. Both get priced and agreed with you before the work happens, never added at the end.
